Akerselva – amazing Candle Walk
Thursday 25, September 2008, the International Class and the Social and Global Class made a joint visit to the most exciting and dramatic cultural event in Oslo.
|
It was the annual festival in honour of the autumnal equinox – when night and day are the same length. Before we started to go to the river, everybody told us, how beautiful it will be there with all the candles and attractions – and everything has been true. After a short talk of the major of Oslo the show began with a really impressing magician. After that we finally started our walk along the river. The way was marked with thousands of candles. |

After a few meters we saw a music group which was playing in the middle of some candles. Shortly away there were boats with candles on the river, a tree full of CDs etc. The night breeze was quite cold, but we amused ourselves in the recreations and talked about life and history and made many new friends. All in all we can say that this trip was another step into the Norwegian culture and way of life. |
